Our commitment: making your stay at Tótem Madrida positive-impact experience
At Tótem Madrid we strive to follow the sustainability standards set by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council. In order to minimise our environmental and social impact, we greatly appreciate your collaboration.
Plastic has been eliminated from our operations. To maximize this effort, you can contribute by properly separating waste. Please place paper and packaging in the room’s wastebasket, glass will be removed from the table, and you can use the bathroom bin for all other waste. This action brings us closer to our Zero Waste goal. Our laundry and hairdryer bags are part of our Circular and Social Economy program and are made from repurposed hotel textiles, crafted in social reintegration workshops. This process avoids the use of 900 liters of water and reduces the carbon footprint by 53%. If you would like to purchase these social and circular products, you can do so at reception, or request additional free bags if needed.
The hotel is equipped with technology to ensure proper water management. Simple actions, such as turning off the tap when not in use or selecting the appropriate flush option on the toilet, help prevent the generation of over 100 liters of wastewater per person per day.
The cosmetics provided in your room are locally made with natural ingredients, and all our amenities are biodegradable.
100% of the electricity we use comes from renewable sources, and we are equipped with technology to use this resource efficiently. Turning off the lights and air conditioning when you leave the room is a significant contribution to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and mitigating global warming.
Consuming local products and participating in experiences that protect Madrid’s culture and heritage are actions that promote local development and destination preservation. Most minibar products are locally made and represent a tribute to Madrid’s traditions and flavors.

Sustainable tourism is key to a prosperous future. We care for destinations today so they remain attractive tomorrow.
